Music
Studies have shown that a solid music education can help to improve math and reading skills, as well as improve students' performance on college entrance tests such as the SAT. At St. Gertrude, students learn the basics of music theory and composition, and gain an appreciation of the music of different cultures in an interactive, dynamic, "hands on" environment.

  • Junior high students participate in the musical liturgy in weekly school masses
  • Annual Christmas pageant featuring the talents of 8th grade students performing lead roles, supported by a choir of over 200 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students
  • Primary spring program showcasing grades K thru 3, with singing and choreography
  • Other musical events including Rosary Procession, 7th Grade Passion Play, May crowning, and Youth Rally.
  • Guitar lessons offered at an additional cost as an "after school" activity for interested students.
  • Full-time certified music instructor
