STUDENT LIFE
Building Character Beyond the Classroom
Extracurricular Opportunities
At St. Gertrude School, we intentionally cultivate each student’s natural sense of wonder and capacity for critical thinking. Learning extends beyond the classroom through diverse opportunities that encourage students to explore, develop their skills, and contribute meaningfully to the community. This approach fosters academic growth, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong commitment to discovery within a faith-centered environment.

OUR MISSION
The St. Gertrude Players Group
The St. Gertrude Players, our spirited theater group for students in grades 4–8, bring creativity and community to life on stage each year with a musical production in late winter.
In 2025, they delighted audiences with James and the Giant Peach, Jr., a whimsical and heartwarming tale of courage and friendship. Through music, laughter, and adventure, the Players took us on James’s magical journey across the ocean, showcasing their talent and teamwork.

Bulldog Athletics
The primary purpose of the athletic program is to provide students with the instruction, guidance, and direction necessary to develop their talents in athletics, while at the same time forming them in those virtues that are an integral part of team play and competition. The athletic program is run by St. Gertrude Boosters Association, a group of volunteers elected to facilitate all St. Gertrude sponsored athletics participating in the GCCYS (Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports) and GCYL (Greater Catholic Youth League).

Youth Ministry
St. Gertrude Parish’s junior high youth ministry fosters a base camp experience of the Christian life. Inspired by the lives of saints who embarked on the adventure of the Christian life, we cultivate time and space for encountering Christ through prayer, the sacraments, and real formation for daily discipleship.
