CELEBRATING
Over 90 Years of Academic Excellence
Our History
St. Gertrude School first opened its doors in the fall of 1934, welcoming forty students in grades one through eight. Their education was entrusted to four Dominican Sisters from the Congregation of St. Cecilia in Nashville, Tennessee, marking the beginning of a rich tradition of faith-filled academic excellence. As enrollment grew throughout the 1940s and 1950s, the school expanded to accommodate the increasing number of families seeking a Catholic education rooted in truth and virtue.
In August 2006, after 72 years of service, the original school building was replaced with a new, state-of-the-art facility—a multi-million-dollar project made possible by the generous support and unwavering commitment of our parish community. This legacy of devotion continues today as St. Gertrude School educates and forms nearly 400 students in the truth of the Catholic faith, shaping them into well-rounded disciples of Jesus Christ.
